TENADO METAL 3D Is Now Available in North America. Here’s What You Need to Know.

If you design and fabricate stairs, railings, or structural metalwork, you have probably spent years working around the limitations of software that was never really built for your trade. Most CAD tools were designed for mechanical engineers. Metal fabricators have been adapting them ever since.
TENADO METAL 3D was designed specifically for metal fabrication. Stairs, railings, structural steel, ornamental metalwork. The software is built around the way those projects actually get designed and built.

You may not have heard of it. Here’s why.

TENADO has been developing industry-specific CAD software for more than 35 years. The platform has a strong track record across Europe, where designers and fabricators rely on it every day. Until now, it has only been available in Europe.
That changes now.
TENADO METAL 3D is now available to metal fabricators in the United States and Canada. It is the same platform that European fabricators have used for decades, localized for the North American market.

Who is this for?

TENADO METAL 3D is designed for custom metal shops, stair and railing fabricators, steel construction companies, and design consultants who work with complex metalwork. If your shop has anywhere from 5 to 50 people and you spend your days designing and quoting stairs, railings, gates, frames, or structural components, this platform was built with your workflow in mind.

What does it actually do?

The core of TENADO METAL 3D is its automated stair and railing generators. You enter your dimensions and configuration, and the software builds a complete 3D model, handles the calculations, and generates your fabrication drawings automatically. Work that used to take hours can be done in a fraction of the time.
Beyond stairs and railings, TENADO METAL 3D includes tools for sheet metal work, parametric design of structural components, and automated generation of bills of materials, bar lists, and cut lists directly from your 3D model.
For shops that work on projects involving architects or general contractors who use BIM, TENADO supports IFC file export. You can exchange model data with the rest of the project team and stay connected to jobs that require it.
The platform also supports point cloud import, which is useful for renovation and retrofit work. You bring in the scan data and work directly from that, which removes the need to measure manually on site.

Why does accuracy matter so much?

In metal fabrication, a small error early in the design process can cost significant time and money by the time it reaches the shop floor. TENADO METAL 3D reduces the number of manual steps between the design and the fabrication drawing, which means fewer opportunities for errors to enter the process. The software handles the calculations so you can focus on the work.

What’s the best way to learn more?

The best way to understand what TENADO METAL 3D can do for your shop is to see it running on the types of projects you actually work on. We are offering personal live demonstrations with a TENADO specialist, a walkthrough of the software using real project scenarios, with time to ask questions.
